Lock Poker Review

Lock Poker has been popular with online players since 2010 when they made the move to the Merge Gaming Network. They have recently made the move to the Revolution Gaming network of sites. They now offer all of the features that are found at a great online poker room.

This is what has drawn several of the world's top online poker players to call Lock Poker their home. The list includes Michael Mizrachi, Annette Obrestad, Fancisco Costa, Felipe Ramos, Melanie Weisner and about 20 more. You can view the list of players, including their screen names, at the Lock Pro page on their website.

At any time of the day, there are at least 2,000 active players online. This jumps up dramatically during peak hours such as evenings and weekends. People are either drawn in by the Poker Promotions or the daily and weekly tournaments that are offered.

Downloading and Creating an Account

Lock Poker is accommodating to poker players that have either a Mac or a PC. You will need to download the correct software based on the computer that you have in order to play these real money poker games. The installation is quick and easy.

Once you have installed the software, you will need to create a poker account with Lock by clicking on the Create Account button found in the upper-right portion of the screen. The first screen will have you input your name and email address, as well as a password. The Password Strength meter is a bit harsh, so just make sure your password isn't labeled Very Weak.

Next, you will have to input your address, phone number and birthday information before you can create the account. You can now play at the Play Money tables, which do not require you to make a deposit. However, if you want to play at the Real Money tables or tournaments, you will need to make an initial deposit.

Making a Deposit

Once you sign up, you will be taken to a screen where you can make a deposit by clicking on the Deposit Now button. There are several different options that you can use to fund your account: Visa, Amex, MasterCard or Skrill (eWallets option). You can also choose to make a deposit with Western Union.

If you have a bonus code that you would like to redeem, click the link that says "Click here to redeem". You can learn more about the bonus codes below.

Playing Real Money Poker

Once you have completed the steps above, go back to the Poker Lobby screen and click the Login button. You will need to create your Screen Name that other players at the tables will see.

You will see a scrolling list of the major tournaments at the top of the screen. This will tell you how much time there is before the tournament begins. You can click on the Register Now button to join.

If you have ever played at an online poker room before, the lobby should look pretty familiar. There are sections for the Ring Games, Tournaments and Sit and Go (small 1 to 5 table mini-tournaments). You can choose to sort by game type at the Ring Games (Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha HiLo), by tournament type on the Tournaments screen (Satellite, Event, Private, Freeroll), or by the number of tables in the Sit and Go section (1-Table, Multi Table, Heads-up, Satellite).

You can also choose the Limits (No Limit, Pot Limit, Fixed Limit) and the Stakes (Low, Medium, High). There is also an Advanced Filter tab for each section where you can check or uncheck the different options so only a narrow range of tables and tournaments appear in the poker lobby.

Poker Bonus

You can receive up to $4,000 on your first deposit to Lock Poker. You will receive a 200% match on your first deposit when you deposit up to $2,000 into your poker account. Use the bonus code LOCKPOKER before you make your first deposit.
