Bovada Poker

Bovada is a leading online gambling portal that I would highly recommend at least trying out. They offer a sportsbook, racebook, casino, and online poker room. Bovada is rated the top online poker site for US players. There are always plenty of games around the clock and they have a solid track record of always paying out. According to PokerScout, there are usually around 2,000 players during peak hours at any given time. This means you'll have no trouble finding action in the games you like to play.

They have micro limit games from $0.01/$0.02 for the beginning player and if you prefer playing tournaments you would be happy to know there are tournaments with buy-ins as low as $1. I like to play the $1,500 Guaranteed 6-Handed Deep Stack Event. It has $13 buy-in and starts at 6:30 PM each day. The site has the usual variety of games but really specializes in No Limit Hold’em. If like me you prefer playing other exciting poker games to add a bit of variety to your game, then you can also enjoy a game of Omaha, Seven Card Stud, and other variations of poker.

Software 8.5/10

The software at Bovada was built from the ground up. It is the same software poker client as what is used on Bodog, with Bovada being the brand that caters to USA players. As soon as I signed into the poker room it was fairly evident from the onset that the software was made with functionality in mind.

The look and feel of Bovada’s online poker room is clean and ultra simple. Don’t expect to find features like a buddy list to find your friends and see what tables they’re playing at. I’ve seen how the software has improved over time and the focus has been on providing high quality graphics and software that provides a great poker playing experience. One new and unique feature that sets this online poker room apart from other sites is the anonymous tables.

Whether you’re playing in tournaments or ring games all the tables are anonymous, meaning there are no usernames to identify players at each table. Seat numbers instead identifies players on anonymous poker tables. This is possibly the best feature of Bovada poker from the point of view of the recreational player, since it makes it impossible for a player to use data-mining sites to gain an unfair advantage over an opponent.

Game Selection 9/10

Bovada Poker offers a wide selection of real money online poker games, which sets it apart from some other online poker sites. These games include Stud, Omaha, Texas Hold'em, Stud Hi/Lo and Omaha Hi/Lo.

Everyday there are numerous freeroll tourneys on Bovada with $15k worth of freerolls every month. The freerolls can be used to improve your game if you can fend off the all-in cowboys in the early rounds you’ll have a decent chance of cashing in them. As a new player, you’ll receive six qualifiers into the $100k Guaranteed Tournament. There are two big freerolls hosted on the first and last Saturday of each month. Also check out this Bovada poker review for latest tournament schedules.

In terms of Sit N Go’s there is a very large variety when it comes to NLH. The buy-ins starts at a dollar and head up to over $500 with a lot of intervals in between. Not only do they have regular 9 person SNG's, but they have heads up and 6-max too. The variety in SNG's when it comes to other games like Omaha and Stud are not as great, but still up there. The regular SNG's are very popular but in addition there is turbo, hyper turbo, double-up, triple-up, and beginner SNGs which pay the top 4 players instead of the top 3 which tends to be standard across most sites.

They also have a very large selection of MTTs that suit most bankroll sizes and skill levels. This is great news for online tournament players, as you never have to wait long for the next tourney to start. Their biggest weekly tournament is the $100k Guaranteed, which takes place on Sundays. You can expect around 500 players for this $162 buy-in tourney, but there are also a number of special qualifier satellites for the $100k event. The tournament structure works very well with 12-minute intervals although the turbo and super turbo tournaments are much quicker.

Promotions 10/10

Currently offering a 100% first deposit bonus up to $1000 and not only do you get this huge bonus just for creating an account at Bovada, you also get two months to clear it. Their Refer-a-Friend program is pretty nice, giving you up to $100 in bonus dollars per friend. Make sure your friends use your personal referral code in order to claim the bonus.

Banking Options 10/10

Players can deposit using a number of different methods, including major credit card issuers like Visa, MasterCard, as well as ewallet payment services like eWalletXpress, PaySafeCard, Click2Pay, Neteller (non-US) or Skrill (non-US).

Customer Service 10/10

You’ll find the support at Bovada Poker to be top-notch. It’s available though a toll free telephone number or via email.
