BetOnline Poker Review

BetOnline is a popular Sportsbook and Casino. They have been around since the late 1990's and have a strong following of sports betting and casino players. However, the same cannot be said about the poker room that they offer.

You might wonder why you should try to sign up and play at BetOnline's poker room if this is the case. There is one simple reason and it is explained below.

Signing Up for a Poker Account

Signing up for a new account is easy. Simply click on the Join Now! button and you can get started with the initial steps for creating a new account. This includes entering some basic information such as you name, email, birthday and the password you would like to use.

The second step is to enter in the details such as your street address, city, state and zip code, as well as your contact phone number. Then, click the button that says "Click Here to Create My Account". You will receive a confirmation email containing your username and password to the email address that you have provided.

Your username will contain the letter "B" followed by six numbers. The password will be the one that you provided. You will have to click the activation link that is provided in the email to get started.

You will be taken to the Deposit screen where you can fund your account. The funding options include Visa, American Express and MasterCard, although the MasterCard option is only available for VIP accounts. You can also deposit money using a Person to Person Money Transfer using either Western Union or MoneyGram.

If you have problems making a deposit into your account, you can use the 800 number provided to contact a customer services representative who will help you complete the transaction.

There is a minimum deposit of $50 USD and a Maximum deposit of $500 USD. The Poker account is separate from the Sports betting account. If you have money in your sports betting account, you can transfer money to and from the sports account to fund your poker account. This can be done in the Poker Lobby.

BetOnline Poker Features

After you have made your deposit, you will be given the option to download the BetOnline Poker software. You cannot download this software before you have deposited money into the account. There is no Free Play option with this software. You can only play for Real Money.

As for the "Features" at BetOnline's poker room, there isn't much to talk about. You have the option to play Hold'em or Omaha ring games. The tournaments offered are Hold'em Tournaments or Hold'em Sit'N Go. There are hourly Freerolls offered if you have made a deposit. There are sporadic buy-in tournaments that aren't very popular. Most of the players choose to play the Freerolls.

The poker tables themselves harken back to the mid-aughts with the lack of graphics and features. These are not glowing endorsements of this poker site. You might be wondering if there is any advantage at all for playing poker at BetOnline. There is one and it is listed below.

Easy Poker Players

BetOnline is primarily a Sportsbook and Casino. The Poker section is an afterthought. Because of the difficulty involved with funding the account, many people simply don't try and don't finish the process through to completion.

Those that do are the Sports Bettors. They are already used to going through loops in order to fund their sports betting habit. They also tend to be experts (or pretend experts) at sports betting and online poker is an afterthought for these players as well.

This means that the majority of players on this site are not going to be anywhere close to as seasoned as the player that you will find at any of the normal online poker rooms. That's not to say that you won't find a poker expert or two. I just wouldn't count on finding many of them since you can only play at one table at a time.

So, if you have the patience to constantly whoop up on the poker newbies that wander into the poker section at BetOnline, you can do very well to build that bankroll of yours. Just be aware that the lack of players will mean that it will usually take more time to get a table together if you want to try a Sit'N Go.

Your best bet is to sit down at one of the Ring Game tables and go to work on the fish that enter the table.

Daily Freerolls

BetOnline does have one feature that barely counts as a feature when you compare it to other poker sites. They do offer hourly Freerolls that tend to be quite popular. Of course, this means you are going to have to wade through the luck that these random players are going to have with their inconsistent betting and lack of knowledge when it comes to positioning and pot odds.

These freerolls range in prize money from $10 to $100 (once a day). This money is split between 10 players to 40 players for the $100 freeroll.
